Experience Level: Must feel comfortable throwing on the wheel
Tea lovers, gather to join a cultural journey of teaware making. This course introduces you to various teaware designs including wheel-thrown and sculptural teapots, hand built chawan (matcha bowls), and tea cups. You will learn advanced techniques on lidded forms, forms and functions of spouts and strainers, assembly and composition of teapot parts, and anatomy of traditional Japanese chawan.
The class group is kept small at 8 students to allow for more one-on-one attention with the instructor.
Included in the class:
2.5 hr. weekly classes over a 6-week period
A free bag of clay (13lb Bmix)

Access to the studio during open studio hours, Saturday & Sunday from 12 pm - 5 pm (students can sign up for two hours each day)
