During our 6-week course we will work on advancing our handbuilding skills while creating a sculptural table lamp, with special attention to surface techniques such as carving, texture, and slip design. This class is aimed at students who want to learn more advanced techniques for planning and executing a sculptural project. We will discuss sketching and measuring, look at inspiration photos and advanced finishing techniques. Students will learn to design and execute 12 in handbuilt sculptures.

The class group is kept small at 8 students to allow for more one-on-one attention with the instructor.

Included in the class:

• 2.5 hr. weekly classes over a 6-week period

• A free bag of clay (13lb Bmix), Clay Upgrades Available

• Tools and glazes

• Firing of your pottery pieces

• Access to the studio during open studio hours, Saturday & Sunday from 12 pm - 5 pm (students can sign up for two hours each day)

• Masks are optional
