Tuesdays 6:30 - 9 pm
Sept 2 - October 7
Taught by Yuki Watanabe
Build on your wheel-throwing foundation in this 6-week intermediate course focused on creating functional, multi-part forms. You'll explore a range of techniques for making vessels that pour, hold, and contain—such as teapots, pitchers, lidded jars, creamers, and more.
Through guided instruction and weekly demonstrations, you’ll learn how to:
Throw and refine multi-part forms like spouts, lids, and handles
Design pieces with both form and function in mind
Create snug-fitting lids, balanced spouts, and clean attachments
Experiment with various vessel types that include pouring or lidded elements
This course is ideal for students looking to go beyond basic bowls and cylinders, and who want to explore more technical builds with support. The focus will be on developing your skills in precision, design thinking, and functional craftsmanship, with space to explore your own creative direction within each project.
The class group is kept small at 8 students to allow for more one-on-one attention with the instructor.
Included in the class:
2.5 hr. weekly classes over a 6-week period
A free bag of clay (13lb Bmix)
Select Upgrade to opt to upgrade your clay to a 25lb clay of your choice.
