Taught by Yuki Watanabe

Take your wheel-throwing practice to the next level with a course dedicated entirely to volume, lift, and expressive form. Designed for potters ready to challenge themselves, this immersive class focuses on creating bold, spacious shapes—think moon jars, bulbous pitchers, sculptural vases, and refined lidded forms.

You’ll learn how to work with larger amounts of clay while maintaining structural integrity, developing the strength, rhythm, and intuition required for throwing on a bigger scale. We’ll explore advanced techniques in lifting, stretching, shaping, and fluid alterations, including stamping, faceting, and press-stretching. By the end, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how to read and respond to the clay as it moves.

This course is ideal for potters who want to elevate their technical skillset, refine their artistic voice, and master the kind of pieces that truly command space.
