TURN Studio 2-Day, Stenciling Workshop, April 27 & 28, 10am-3pm

TURN Studio 2-Day, Stenciling Workshop, April 27 & 28, 10am-3pm

$350.00

Kenny will demonstrate how he records dimensions of 3d surface areas, creates and digitizes a template design for ceramic pieces, designs/cuts stencils, and how to use stencils to apply slips and glazes to bisqueware.

He will work with participants to measure their own premade bisqueware to create stencils specifically for their pots, letting attendees choose from a premade set of tessellating patterns.

In this workshop, we will be working with a cylindrical form and tapered form. Additionally, measuring and applying stencils to irregular pots will be covered via demos so participants can take what they learn and apply it to more complex shapes in the future.

Please bring 1 cylindrical bisqueware pot (as close to perfectly vertical walls as possible) between 3” and 12” in height and 1 straight-wall tapered cylinder (such as a cup, vase or a coffee dripper). Attendees who do not have a straight-wall tapered cylinder pot can opt to bring 2-3 cylindrical pots instead.

This two-day workshop is on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28th, 10-3pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

Images shown are samples of Kenny Sing’s work and patterns available may differ at the workshop.
