Assistant Studio Manager - Part time
We are looking for someone who can help maintain a clean, stocked, and fun studio. This individual will need to wear many hats and be able to do ceramic tech work, administrative work, and be able to teach a pottery class. This person will be interacting with students, and members and working closely with the owner, Sam.
Core Responsibilities include:
Teach a class session and be available to substitute teach
Support Tech related items such as managing the kiln loads, tracking clay and glaze inventory, purchasing, organizing and storing inventory, mixing glazes, and more.
Help keep a Clean and tidy studio (mopping, wiping down surfaces, handling slop, organizing shelves)
Fulfill administrative duties such as responding to e-mails, organizing classes (sell classes, set up registration, clean and prep shelves before each class, making sure e-mails go out), Membership onboarding (communicating what’s included in monthly price, giving tours, setting up their shelves, and being around in case they have any questions on their first day), and Membership offboarding (e-mails about transition, making sure pieces are being fired on time)
Create a friendly atmosphere for students and members
Assist with planning and preparing for events
Manage and communicate with team, members, and students
Assist in fulfilling the sales quota each quarter either through class sales, memberships, and shop.
Qualifications:
Must have 1+ years experience in ceramics
Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once
Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
Good social and communication skills
Must be able to take initiative
Must be able to handle difficult situations are they come up, Needs to be a problem solver
